Grete Wendt designed a small group of six Lantern Children in the 1930s. With this boy released in May of 2015 along with the girl holding a round lantern also released at the same time the lively children’s parade is now complete again.
“I’m walking with my lantern, my lantern walks with me. Above the stars are shining, below are shining we.” This will probably be the song on the lips of the Lantern Children as they parade with their brightly colored lanterns at dusk. They have made their lanterns themselves - the boy has painted his with colorful stripes. They are trying to outshine the stars.
